Suggestion for a possible sticky - Reference Pictures?

Just throwing this out there for you guys, and the mods... It occurred to me that we have hundreds of great modelers on the forum, all of whom have a great variety of tastes and experience in different areas of automobiles. Some of us likely have vast resources in terms of good high quality reference material--maybe we could share it?

I know I for one have a pretty big magazine collection, which includes HOT ROD, Popular Hot Rodding, Car Craft, GM High Tech Performance, Mopar Action, Road and Track, and Hemming's Muscle Machines. I'm sure there's lots of us out there who subscribe to other magazines, or have lots of automotive books with great HQ pictures. Others still may have a pretty large collection of digital images from various parts of the car culture.

I was thinking maybe it might be feasible to have an ongoing sticky, similar to the Classifieds thread, where one can request reference pics of a car or specific areas of a car, and we can put our heads together to find some good pics? Just seems like it might be more efficient than a new thread for each request.

IMO, a new thread for each request is perfectly fine.

Having a sticky would only increase the burden on the moderator team to maintain another thread and continuously prune it.

good idea, but, I don't really know, I was just wondering it... what about book's copyrights if posting all here...?

some pics here and there wouldn't set troubles (??) but a full thread dedicated to that with hundreds pics taken in books...?

I don't think that John was implying posting pictures to the forums. More of a request forum, then leading to personal contact and sharing

Indeed. Or rather, "however you want to get it." I suppose if it was determined to be too risky to post a bunch in the thread, PM only or email would certainly be an option. Or off-site image hosting.

Oh Ok, I didn't understand that like that, sorry.

I don't know if it will be easier for the ones asking (still depends on people looking at the thread) but it will be easier to find something back among all demands !

that's a good idea but I mostly see it as a tool usefull before asking the eventual question.
each of us will have to play the game and take a look at the most often possible otherwise we will see personnal demands back.

That's my opinion about this idea.
