What would happen if I took that off?

Ever wonder what would happen if you were to take your heatsink off? Well click on the link below and download this movie to find out. You may need the Divix codec if you don't have it already.

Enjoy.

Burn baby burn.

Divix Codec.

on a 1GHZ+ a few seconds for any processor that fast can prove fatal. The more transistors the quicker and more heat produced.

Well since you couldn't see the video. The two Intels simply locked. The two Athlons burned up in a matter of seconds. One even took the mobo with it. They both got to about 300 C.

yeah even the xp's get very hot. Maybe only the trougroubred will be cooler because 0.13=less electricity=less heat.

They have already discovered materials with no electrical resistance, making for NO heat. I'm guessing its too pricey/too hard to make into 60million transisors in about .5 cubic centimeters.

do you mean super conductors. when metal/wire etc. reaches its transition temperature (-263 degrees C i think) it offers absolutely no resistance whatsoever (meaning no heat), eliminating the need for a voltage and therefore a power source. It is extremely expensive to keep it this cool, but they would have to case the whole computer in it as it is too bulky (the insulation required is a cm or more in 1 wire). it would be too impractical cos if anything DID go wrong it would probably cost hundreds or even thousands to put the whole assembly back together.

I know that some stuff is good when cold (I think it is helium that goes UP a bucket wall). I just thought they had 0 resistance at room temperature, or close to it.

Instead of the beast 72CFM, I have a ThermalTake7 that goes up to 53CFM with a copper core and aluminum fins. I also have 1 case fan. My XP 1800 is at 53o C stock. Overclocked, it still is pretty much the same temp.
