Careers Abroad

Hi I am studying BSc Computer Aided Auto Design in the UK, Birmingham. I am looking for a student placement year from May/June for a year. I have applied to many places in the UK by finding automotive industry directories online.
I am doing an engineering related degree but I also want to get into design, don't get me wrong I tottaly enjoy the course that I am doing now, I am thriving on the challange and doing well at it. I am also thinking about doing a transport design course part time.
As this is the situation at the moment I am unsure on what type of company would benefit me with a placement/internship. I have found many engineering design (using programs like catia) but no luck in finding CONCEPT DESIGNING companies. I would like to know if there even are such companies that specifically design concept vehilcle, or are they just classes as departments within automotive companies. I am prepared to relocate to another country but I really need to find companies. Can anyone help me?
Guys from around the globe, please help out, even if its just a weblink.
