95 mustang gt 5.0 gold edition?...

Im new to the world of mustangs but they've allways been a eye catchin car for me. Plus a couple of my friends own them. Anyways my parents just bought a 95 mustang gt "gold edition" 5 speed for no apparent reason and they dont even know how to drive 5 speed. so that leaves me to drive it . Anyways. recently ive been in a couple a races. #1- 97 4.6L mustang 5 speed... beat it by a solid.. 6-7 car lengths from 0-160km/h. #2- early ninty's fox body gt 5 speed wiht some dumped exhaust... he got the jump and by the end of second i had um by a length or 2.... and finally... #3 another 90's fox body mustang gt cobra 5 speed. but i know this guy and its got an edelbrock intake manifold exhaust cai and apparently 373 gears... i beat him by a length or so through 2nd with a slow shift into second... I just dont get why my BONE sotck 95 mustang gt 5 speed is beating these cars?!?!?! arnt fox body's suppose to be like the fastest mustang stock produced?! my question is. can anyone see y im beating these cars? or is it maybe a bit more out the box power from it being a gold edition? Any thoughts would make me happy. thanks

Re: 95 mustang gt 5.0 gold edition?...

5.0s stock are pretty slow, BUT it doesnt take much to get them fast, as for gold edition, ive never heard of it. and there is no way(other than terrible driving) that a stock 95 will beat a 5.0 with intake manifold, exhaust and gears. so im guessing your car isnt stock

Re: 95 mustang gt 5.0 gold edition?...

Well. under the hood. i got the stock intake with an old dirty fram filter. and its sounds real quiet even at wot. underneath the car the exhaust looks stock. and i cant pinpoint anything on the engine thats aftermarket at all. not even an underdrive pulley. As for gold edition. The gt mustang badges are in gold then under it says gold edition in gold writing. also there are 2 gold stripes from the front to the back of the car. on the internet i have only found a very very limited amount of info on the gold edition. apparently all gold editions where black with the stripes and had black and red interior. same as mine. Unfortunetly none of these sites list the spechs for the car. so im still lost as to why its so fast!

Yeah you should't be beating all those cars. Take it to the track and see what it runs.

So you race it on the streets

i'm assuming your saying your parents care, i'm sure they'd rather see you on a drag strip as compared to illegal street racing. but that's just one guy's opinion

Just take good care of the car & don't dog it out.
It will only take so much before problems starts.
Better for you to race on the track. than streets.
