96 sunfire with a few problems

ok i came here before with problems and i was greatful for the responces i got so here i am again ...ive read threw many posts and im not quite sure what some of the abbreviations are but heres my problem
i have a 96 sunfire 2 door no fancy stuff like power windows etc just basic sunfire
other nite it was raining real bad and my abs lite came on ...right after my stereo turned off then on again a few times ....same thing next day which is was rainin hard again ....so now a few days have gone by with no troubles
tonight i went to go out to work and i just didnt sound right but it started
i come out from work and its real cold here with snow .....anyways the car wouldnt start ....i got a boost and on way home the abs lite came on again
and to back up the bus a bit ....been about a yr now the running light dont work ....they flash ...i have no brights i click them and i get nothing ...they actually shut right off .....is this to do with the wiring harness problems i keep reading about ? or u think my alternator ? sheesh i have no clue

Take your car across the river to Autozone and get it scanned for any codes, abs etc, apparently they offer this as a free service state side.abs could be a bad sensor /wiring problem at wheel.you`ve read the lighting issues ,so you know where to look for that problem,up front. how old is your battery. It does sound like you have a bad electrical connection somewhere and the water is creating a problem . your alternator is likely still ok if .. if your battery is good something is drawing power and killing it. your alternator and battery may also get a free check up.

loose wire and corrosion are what I'm thinkin.

ya most likely but if these checks are free why not get it done ,right ? with the abs light they can pin point which wheel is acting up
