been 17 hours since last cigarette

ok guys, lets see how long i could last(hopefully forever!) i have quit for two years in the past, but picked it up again on vacation. been smoking a little less than a pack of marlboro lights a day for like 8 months. i know what to expect(being short tempered, eating more, sleepless nights, etc) so i think i could survive......

Use this thread to update your progress. Anytime you want a cig, just post here, and once you'll see the progress you've made, you'll be less likely to light up, because you'll have to start all over again.

Good luck

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

think of the health benefits, the heavy wallet you will have, you will smell nice. Women will want to fuck you like crazy. Okay maybe the last one was a bit over exagerated, but you get the idea.

The first two weeks is the worst of it, get past them and you're on the road to success. The first week is obviously the worse of the two.

If you add tobacco to your green, I strongly suggest stopping that and smoking it green. You don't want to trade one addiction for another.

As for the way you're feeling, tell yourself it's your bodies way of repairing the damage you've done.

Try Zyban. It's worked wonders for me. I've slipped once or twice. But, it's so much less stessful. It's pricey. But, worthwhile.opcorn:

Re: been 17 hours since last cigarette

I went to Ultra in Central Park a little over 2 months ago. For those that dont know its like a huge rav outside. So I ended up getting so wasted 3 x pills and I dont kno how much weed I smoked but I smoked 2 packs that night and basically 24 hours later I couldnt speak my throat was done I was so shot. So I made it a goal to quit. I have been smoke free since. This is the longest I have gone since I was 17 I have been smoking a pack a day for about 10 years. It was very hard to quit. My attitude was crazy I was so short tempred I didnt want to talk to anyone or do anything. Basically a week later I came to and was ok. I gained 10 pounds right off the bat ( which I can use) But ever since I feel amazing, working out every day eating healthy and just feeling great. I guess the quiting smoking started a chain reaction with me to get my shit in gear. I am very glad I quit. You can do my alert ego lol Its also helps to have people who push you like a female or close friend. I dont think I'll ever quit 420 tho

Re: been 17 hours since last cigarette

haha, again, same as me, i quit for 2 years in the past, and the best time to do it is when your sick. you could just look at smoking as the cause and think of how sick you are from smoking. when i quit, i was also healthy and felt great, this time i just wasnt ready. you really have to be prepared for a week or two of hell, and eating... i could use the ten lbs, i only weigh 137. when i quit i was up to 145.... felt and looked better. ahhhh, i gotta quit soon and really stick to my guns...

Re: been 17 hours since last cigarette

One thing to remember: tobacco is an addiction, that's why it's so hard to quit.

It often takes many tries to succeed and "cold turkey" is almost guaranteed to frustrate you to no end.

Contact your family doc, go see him/her, ask about smoking cessation, and ask about a med called Chantix. It occupies the nicotine receptor sites and makes the transition much smoother.

Give it a shot.
