a backyards idea
Im prolly thinking something really stupid but here goes. I have a 1995 eagle talon esi (no turbo i know gay) But i want to turbo it now i dont want to pay 3k for a hahn kit way dumb. I was curious and had an idea why not buy a regular 4g63 kit turbo, front mount intercooler, etc. Use what parts i can turbo, intercooler, the basics. Make my own manifold and save some money.
Now will this work to a point?

www.2gnt.com
Under the tech articles there's a GREAT writeup on a DIY turbokit for the 420a for like $800 I think he spent. His name is GSgoinfast |

Re: a backyards idea
No that kit wont work. It said in the decription that the kit if for GST and/or GSX. And right below where it said that it said "will NOT fit nonturbo eclipse".
FYI, those turbo are notorious to suck ass. The seals are crap and everything. the only thing you can really use in one of those kits on ebay are the manifolds, fmic's, and piping. Piecing it all together will/might be cheaper in the long run.

Re: a backyards idea
It will work if you know what you are doing. Do a lot of research! I researched parts and searched different forums for over 6 months before I even bought the first part. I ended up having about $1300 into the whole project and so far it has worked out fine. Im working on a write up of the turbo install. It should be done in a week or so.

www.homemadeturbo.com is a good source too. If you are mildly creative and have a welder, I bet you can rig up a setup for pretty cheap.

Re: a backyards idea
That article by GSgoinfast is the best overall article there is. You'll find some other ones that give you some tips, but that one is by far the most descriptive and pictureized (is that a word?) and shiit.
