headgasket

how do i know when my head gasket is going out i have a 1995 sohc with a 118000 miles on it ,and are the headgasket rebuild kit off of ebay anygood or where should i go to get one they are like 70 bucks on ebay

head gasket is bad if, water in the oil, co2 in the water, sometimes you can pull the plugs and find a wet one. your hoses may swell and leak it maybe overheating. you can do a pressure check on the cooling system. I wouldnt buy gaskets off of ebay I would go to the parts store and have the heads checked before I would buy anything

It depends how damaged the gasket is. Mixing oil and coolant is just the beginning, oil and coolant loss, could happen if the gasket is damaged from the outer side and heating could be last signs before something really bad happens.
