Unhappy My 740il has Dual Pane Windows w/Bubbles - HELP!

Has anyone had problems with side Dual Pane windows? Bubbles that show up between the two panes of glass? Was this a recall or is there a fix without replacing or am I just out of luck? Anyone that knows please pass on this information.

I guess you could check with the dealer to see if there's a recall or try at an automotive glass repair shop. I doubt there's anything that can be done without replacing the glass but you can probably get one at a junk yard fairly reasonably.

Unfortunately you probably have the break resistant glass. Bubbling is a problem with these windows. You really don't want to find out how much they cost to replace. No recalls on these.

Re: My 740il has Dual Pane Windows w/Bubbles - HELP!

My 2001 740il has had 2 of the side windows replaced due to delamination. The windows on the otherside are going. BMW has not stepped up to the plate, and had given my a lot of BS excuses. The bonding between the layers of glass is faulty - plain & simple. BMW needs to upgarde these early problem cars with the newest american made Dupont laminated safety glass, instead of their "fine German leaded crystal."
In 2002 they changed to the newest Dupont "SentryGlas," for some "unknown reason." There is probably a secret BMW memo somewhere that suggested a change in vendors due to all of the
problems with the earlier delaminations and the potential financial liability.
BMW shame on you! Premium car owners get shafted again for buying an upgrade option.

I like that! Unfortunately that is how they work. The good news is that BMW is paying for the pixels in the instrument cluster.
