Thumbs down JUST SAY NO!

I have to chuckle every time I see one. I mean, $33,000+ for factory rice-boy styling? And those clear tail lights that don't match anything on the car How did you come to even consider purchasing one?

I'm not the only one who feels this way:

Don't be so quick to jump on IS300 DMC, aside from the ricey tail lights, it's a really nice car.

The IS300 shares the same platform as the Altezza(hence the lights), and is actually a pretty common car in Japanese drifting circles... They handle very well, have near limitless power potential, and are fairly luxurious as well.

I'm not sure of the engine code, but I think the IS300 is the recycled Supra engine, and can make as much as 800 hp... If you can afford one, they are quite good cars...

I personally like the IS300. If you want a sporty sedan with pretty good straightline speed and handling, pretty good luxury, and really cutting edge styling, then this is a great car. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than a 330i, that's for sure, by about 15 grand.

for the cost of the car you could have more hp outa a classic mustang

Difference is you would have WAY more torque

Yes, its flashy, its expensive, but who cares?

I dont, if its got the supra engine, tell the bent T toyota funboy car to go to hell, and take the supra, same engine, way more respect, not a granny car.

Hell, I know the pains of driving an old mans car, but you would have a 90yr old asian ladys car *All I ever see driving them, do before any of you try to flame me think on this, its MY opinion, and as I said, I have only seen elderly asian women driving them*

You make some good points, Cbass.

I guess what this all comes down to is "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and I was stating my views as RACER D12 had asked us to do.

If 1500 HP was possible from the IS300 engine then I still wouldn't be caught dead in one. I think they are about as cutting edge as the Aztek or the BMW (whatever that new ugly boat is called). I'd rather have a Mercedes (my definition of true luxury)... but I say that only because I owned an older model that was a tank and I wish i still had it. We had so much fun in that thing.

So once again I am befuddled by human perceptions and the inner workings of the grey matter. But I definitely know that, in *my opinion* there is no notable design, performance, or value in the IS300... and I will continue to laugh at them. Oh, and I wish there was some other guage of performance other then HP because I can beat cars with twice my HP... and besides those speed limit signs rarely allow us to enjoy that HP we blew our paychecks on.

i think the IS is a damned fine car. it has good looks, even though it looks kinda girly. but in japan its the Altezza with a 2.0 liter engine soo its better balanced then the straight 6 that the usdm version has. but i'm dissapointed at its straightline speed. 0-60 in 7.2 seconds with a 5 speed? get outta here~

Keep in mind, the IS300 is a luxury sports sedan, and is a great all around car. It's not a drag racer, it's not a sports car, but it is a good comprimise for a daily driver.

Aside from the rice tail lights, I don't see anything wrong with it. It has a comfortable ride, yet is still a good handling car. It does leave something to be desired as far as acelleration goes, but it's not hard to add more power.

While I would kill to have a nice classic Mustang, TV, this would make a better daily driver...

The common consensus is that it was a troll, considering the original poster had the same IP as an existing member

Funny as hell though.
