Saw III

I went to see this yesterday afternoon for $5 bucks not bad. If you liked saw I then you liked saw 2 and saw 3 is no different. Same typical saw plot and twists. I enjoyed the last 2 and keeping with the same theme this one held up just as well.

Re: Saw III

I just rented SawII last night. I'm guessing SawIII is similar so I'll wait until it comes out on DVD just in time for next Halloween... haha.

Re: Saw III

I liked saw 3 more than 2. I thought the plotline was more interestingly screwed up than with 2.

Re: Saw III

It was just okay. The brilliance of the first Saw was that you didn't know what to expect, that everything was slowly revealed to you through flashbacks and alternate perspectives. And it all came together when that classic Saw music played as Jigsaw removed his mask and stood up in the bathroom. With the second and third Saw, you're just getting a mishmash of gruesome scenes barely strung together by a weak plot.

Re: Saw III

^I agree somewhat. I liked Saw 2 but a big part of what made Saw the shit was that you didn't see the twist coming. Now that you know there will be a twist in the end, you spend too much time making mental notes for clues during the movie. Saw 2 was good, but the twist wasn't as good and the shock value was less.

Its kinda the same thing as M Knight Shamylan (sp?) movies. You know the twist is coming, so the shock isnt there. but in the case of M Knight, his movies just got pregressively worse regardless of shock value. The Village?
