lowering my 91 shortbox

i'm looking to lower my 91 s10. it has a stock 4.3 with a 700r4 automatic trans. does anyone know if i could use spindles from another chevy that would give me at least 2 inches total drop. i plan to replace the 4.3 with a fuel injected 350 when the engine goes. im also gonna replace the springs and shocks with new ones. this is the first time i've ever lowered anything so advise would be great!
