Do you have to take the dash and center consol out of the 1991 jetta A2 frame to change the heater core /exchanger out or can you do it another way? ALSO I HAVE STEAM COMING OUT OF THE 3/8" HOSE ON THE TOP OF RADIATOR GOING TO THE OVERFLOW BOTTLE. ITS REALLY BAD,WHEN DRIVEN THE STEAM ALSO COMES OUT FROM UNDER THE DASH. HELP I AM ABOUT TO GO TAKE DASH OUT TO CHECK HEATER CORE.OH THE CAR DOES NOT OVER HEAT AND I HAVE FLUSHED WHOLE SYSTEM.

Re: Heater core
Replacing the heater core is a 2 day job....Hold off becuse vw has a recall and you might get it for free. You have to remove the console, lower dash, radio, vents,AC control, gage package...etc..It is a VERY TIME CONSUMING PROCESS!!! DO NOT [email protected]

Re: Heater core
What are the specifications of the recall?
My 92 Jetta does not give heat, and it could be the heater core, I suppose. |

talking about an old thread I had forgot about it. Yes it is a very time consuming process but I have heard of people not removing the whole dash to get it out but just removing what the had to and sliding it out with help. suck the water out first. I still havent heard anything about a recall yet but call your local vw dealer and ask them. Try vwvortex and use the search its a wealth of knowledge or find Doug on here he can help. |
