No title
I bought a new 2000 Dodge Caravan, and financed through GMAC using automatic bank withdrawal. Three months ago it paid off, they took their final payment out. TROUBLE IS they havent sent me the title. I called GMAC and was told the title had been lost, I would have to file some kind of papers to get a title substitute of some kind. Then he said they had misplaced the title and would try to find it. My questions is; If GMAC does not send me a title what are my options? Does the dealer where I bought it have any responsibility for the title, or just GMAC or me?

Call your local DMV. Usually, the lienholder can fill out a separate release of lien form, and you can apply for a duplicate title with the information from your registration.
