Another 612 China Tour WIP......!
Hello to everybody,
As I saw the fantastic WIP on the 612 Scaglietti (China Tour) by Mr Ping and Mr Pong, I decide I would build my 612 with their fantastic décals...... As I already started the kit before of knowing the version I would made, here are some pics from the beginning (?)....... engine is mostly painted and assembled......: ![]() ![]() ![]() The Gearbox is also assembled, painted in glued in position....: ![]() The outlets are painted, washed and weathered.....: ![]() ![]() I decided here, to open a door, but only opening, not making it working as on my Shelby....., I cut it off....: ![]() I then began to have some work on the radiator, here are the pieces Revell gives in their kit......: ![]() I found that the front face of the radiator is a little bare.......so I decided to cut a piece of textured evergreen plastic sheet and to glue it on the front face....: ![]() ![]() I also cleaned the tyres, I removed the "glossy" shine of those.....: ![]() I also drilled the brakes..... Left is original, right is drilled, as you see....: ![]() I removed the "crossbar" in the back of the wheel, as I'm gonna change the fixation system, knowing the usual problem of fitting the wheels on the Revell kits....... ![]() Here are the parts for a transformed wheel.... ![]() I filled the hole at the back of the disk.... ![]() I glued a lenght of styrene in the front of the disk...... ![]() And a larger one at the back..... ![]() I drilled a hole at the back of the wheel, there will go the front of the disk..... Hope I'm clear......... ![]() I removed the pin on the support, and made a oval hole, so I can adjust (later) the height of the completed wheel..... ![]() ![]() Here is how the assembled wheel will loke like....: ![]() That's all for tonight, Guy's. Hope you like it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask..... See you, Jamme |

Fantastic work. I am partial to Ferraris (in case you couldn't tell..hehe)
The angine work is superb and the wheathering is very suited to the car. Great job on re-engineering the wheel attachments. Please keep us updated!

Re: Another 612 China Tour WIP! Up 22/01 18h45
Hello to everybody,
Thank for the comments. Here's a small UP.....! As the schoks in the Revell kit are not very well molded, I decided to make new ones from aluminium rod. The spring is from electric wire and should be painted black.....: ![]() ![]() The radiator is glued in place, painted, with it's new front piece....: ![]() Rims are dechromed and repainted with aluminium silver: ![]() Chassis already finished, with supenssion installed..... ![]() The exhausts are put into place, painted silver and weathered with washes and pastel powders....: Suspenssion and the remade shocks......dont see much of it but I know they are there..... ![]() I made new radiator hoses, instead of the Revell ones, molded in plain plastic.....: ![]() ![]() ![]() That's all for tonight: sorry for my bad english.......... Hope you like it. If you have comments, critisisms, questions, please feel free.......... Cheers, Jamme |

Re: Another 612 China Tour WIP......!
J-M great stufff!!
I really think that the fact that you changed those hoses was a very clever move ![]() And those shocks! Why didn't you mention the little fact that you turned them on a Dremel?!!!! Tang - no challenges in modeling, just mutual help (at least I hope most of the time) ![]() The good news is that I can copy all of J-M's good ideas into my silver one

Re: Another 612 China Tour WIP......!
Thanks to all,
I didn't mention for the shocks because I couldn't explain it in English....... in a manner that people will understand........... Like you say, Steven, no challenge but mutual help..... If you are interested in, i can made a small topic concerning the maje of (simple, really simple) schoks, with a Proxxon....or Dremell. (but not Immediately.........as I have to prepare my annual trip to Nurnberg for the toy Fair. Thank you once again everybody. Jamme |

Re: Another 612 China Tour WIP......!
Hello,
Thank you everybody for your nice comments. I will not forget to make a tutorial about making (simple) schocks with a motor tool..., I swear....! So here is a little UP. As the Chassis is almost finished, I started on the interior. I have to finsh most of the work on it because I need to install it on the chassis, to see how the door I've cut, will fit...... So, as I wanted to make the seat ,not moving, but you know, to move on itself (I don't know to say it in english.....), I had to cut those in 3 pieces..... I also filled the relief with Putty, as I had to made a "Daytona" upholstery (thank you for the picture Stevensky...) So here are the pics... I put to lenghts of wire on the headrest, to make him moveable.... ![]() I began to work at the back of the seats, as those make by Revell, are not very correct..... ![]() Here is the headrest put in place on the seat (not glued). I need another work on the seatbelsts assembly, and so on..... ![]() Then I began to detail the "Daytona" look on the seats, using plasticard strips....I also drilled holes (3 per side, and 6 on a row, with a 0,4mm Drill) ![]() ![]() Here 2 close ups from the work on the seat.... ![]() ![]() That's all for today? I really hop you like the work I'm doing, as there are so many Master Modellers on this forum. Sorry for my really bad English. I'm waiting for your Comments, questions and Criticisms.... Thank You once Again. Jamme |

Re: Another 612 China Tour WIP......!
What's criticism?? LOL Seem geat. You fully catched dayto appeal. Be careful with heatrest support: also daytona seats have side backing.
