Looking cool! I haven't seen you do an interior shot yet. Thanks as always for posting the great step-by-step high-quality screen shots. I'm starting to learn...

Re: bus inside

I don't have any vehicle reference as the vehicle hasn't been built yet. I do have piece pics but nothing assembled. Apparently people will come after him for putting a barn door bus pod in a later model dash but this guy is a rebel.

lol

Looking great! First interior I've seen from you and it's turning out really nicely.

this customer is anti-chrome so I blacked out just about everything. When the shirt gets printed I'll pull the black out about 10% and roll with that.

Re: bus inside

here's my quickie comp.

I run this past the client and gather their feedback. I fully expect to make text based changes at this point. The vehicles are pretty set and the colors of the vehicles is pretty much a done deal. I do like to let the client have a little feedback though and then incorporate some of them into the final.

Re: bus inside

Nice composition. I like the color scheme on the bus, but I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of their new logo. I know they probably had a little legal trouble with the beetle shape in their first logo, but I totally don't understand the star.

Re: bus inside

sometimes VWOA (Volkswagen of America) gets ruffled a bit. They don't really mind the old Beetle shape being used in our field as much as the New beetle shape. They probably felt his stylized version was too close to the New.

I got licensed through VWOA about 5 years ago. I have never had a problem with them on anything I've done. I've met with them when they were here in Tucson and I have done work for our local VW dealership (Chapman) so it's been pleasent.

I would reccommend you go to your local dealership and let them know who you are and what you do. They have needs like any other company and opportunities to get paid and solidify your position in the market exist there.

Hmmm... that's something I've been toying with, but I guess I was turned off after I read the licensing agreement. It's confusing in that it sounds like you have to be a multi-national corporation, i.e.– what's your target demographic, expected sales, yadda-yadda. Do you go through all that and did you do so just to be able to make drawing or are you involved in some kind of e-commerce too?

Re: bus inside

Illy lineart, Photoshop to render, I'm on a PC.

As far as the license they offer an enthusiast and club license option. I went for the enthusiast. They aren't gonna mess with you on old VW stuff, but stay away from the water pumpers.

I was only able to draw the one's I did because Chapman VW hired me to.
