Big Block Bow Tie Specs
What are the specs (weight hight and length) of the Chevy Big Block, is there any difference in size and weight between stock block and the Dart iron block.

Re: Big Block Bow Tie Specs
K,
If you mean the dimensions of a bare block, they are: Length (front cover surface to bellhousing flange) 24" Height (from manifold surface to bottom of front main cap) 13.5" Width (from one deck edge to the opposite) 19" NOTE: These dimensions are taken with a tape measure, and are not to be used for blueprinting purposes. A bare production 454 block weighs about 185 lbs., plus or minus. A Dart, Merlin or "Bowtie" block will add about 35-40 lbs. Jim |

Re: Big Block Bow Tie Specs
Well, as "stock", about 800 lbs. That's with the iron heads, intake and exhaust manifolds.
