1995 madza protoge distributor

i have a 97 protoge i put a 95 motor in it,, the car ran good for about 15,000 miles and then it quite fireing or it has a real light fire,,and wont crank,,i am having trouble finding a distributor for it,,,,why would the distributor stop fireing???? does this car have a history of this??? pls help

Distributors quit firing because something fails inside the distributor or the input signal isn't there. Have you tried replacing the rotor and cap? No car will run forever without something failing or breaking.
