2000 1.3L auto transaxle swap

I have a 2000 Metro with a 1.3L automatic transaxle. I would like to know if there is an automatic overdrive trans that will fit my application? Will transaxles from 1.6 or 1.8L suzuki's bolt up to the 1.3L engine? Also, is the transaxle computer seperate from the engine computer?

I only have a partial answer to your question. Don't know if there is another automatic (4 spd) that could be fitted in the metro. For the second question - for the 2000 - the engine and transmission computers are a single unit.

One issue that I can think of - since the ECU only has knowledge of 2 shift solenoids - how will it control the shift into 4th/OD. You will either need a separate TCM or wire a switch to control OD manually making sure that the computer and the manual switch do not cause a conflicting condition.

There are TCMs available for transmission for those who want to do this kind of thing - however, as far as I'm aware there is nothing for the Metro.
