Re: Need Help With Primer

Well, first off, what kind of primer is it (self-etching primer, primer surfacer or primer sealer). The number of layers Im saying to spray is reletive. More or less depending on your needs, but usially not much less.

Self-etch: You need to sand it with 320-360 grit sandpaper until its smooth. Then go over it with 3-4 layers of Surfacer.

Surfacer: Wet sand with 600 grit until smooth. Then spray 3-4 layers of Sealer.

Sealer: Wet sand with somthing like 600 grit. Spray about 3 layers of basecoat.

Basecoat: Wet sand with 1000 grit. Spray 3+ layers of clearcoat (if your using a basecoat/clearcoat system of course). Clear is so thin, you need to spray alot of it.

This may be over-explination, but if you want me to go into detail more, PM me.
