2001 Protege question
I have a 2001 Protege with 2.0 liter engine. The user manual doesn't say anything about adjusting the valves. Are they self-adjusting or am I missing something?
Thanks. |

Re: 2001 Protege question
In the user manual scheduled maintenance there should be a listing for checking valve clearance at 60k mile intervals. It's in my 2002 Protege 5 manual. The valves are adjusted by changing shims. Usually they will not require adjusting. Shim thickness varies about .002".
