frying smell

i drive a 96 civic...after driving the car and turn it off..i would smell a funny smell...like something fried under the hood. i dont know what it is coming from...any hhelp?

It could be your catalytic converter making that smell, which kinda smells like rotten eggs. Get that checked out. It could also very well be an oil leak thats burning up on the enging block.

Take a good look underneath the hood and see if you notice anything melted/burnt, run the engine to see if any smoke comes out.

so i left the car on while i looked under the hood, and i did see smoke coming from the intake manifold area. i dont know any help?

Possibly oil leaking from the PCV valve, or oil filter, they're right next to eachoter so it could be either. Or it could be a plastic/rubber hose thats out of place and melting on the hot engine.
