Rust on 2003 Sorento trunk door

Hello everybody!

Last week I saw about 10 rust spots at the inner top edge of my trunk door. It is a 2003 Sorento EX with 41k mi. Exactly 5k over warenty.
I am so disappointed in the Kia quality, especially since they try to scratch at tha premium class SUVs.
A couple of days ago I had it at the dealer for an oilchange. Of course they said that it is over warenty and offered a deal:
if I get the transfer case, differential and coolant fluid replaced at the dealership they would "take care of the rust."
My advice: Check your Sorento for rust before you or your wallet become sore.

Best regards,
soreSori.

Re: Rust on 2003 Sorento trunk door

No offense, but maybe you should have taken your own advice and checked for rust before the warranty ran out. It's not a question of if rust is going to happen, but when. It just so happened that it only took 3 years or so for your vehicle to develop rust. Keeping your car free of salt and other debris will help slow the development of rust. Maintaining a good wax job doesn't hurt either. Sorry about your situation, but it happens.
