So maybe this is a bait post and VIN left here by Carfax.

Apparently you're not allowed to distribute this service to others, even if you do it for free. Lucky I only (may have) done this one as they threaten to charge you for the others as below.

Apologies to carfax as I obviously didn't read the contract carefully enough, however,,, I did research some other vehicles (as I was interested in purchasing them), and at least one vehicle that I know was in a fairly severe accident over $2000 and it wasn't shown on the report. The VIN is 1J4FJ68SXVL504085 and it's a 97 Cherokee. The damage has been repaired since March 2006. Funny the report shows a clean bill of health.

Carfax states that they only display information that they receive. What use is this for anyone that wants to purchase a vehicle and pays for this service to make sure they aren't buying a damaged vehicle.

As such, Carfax, I would like my money back for this service as it turns out to be inneffective. Oh, if you want your $20 for the one free report I may have given to an anonymous recipient, just send me a bill.
