455 olds engine turning over very hard

i have an 85 cutlass supreme with a 70's cutlass supreme 455 engine and it struggles to turn over and i was wondering if anybody had any idea's why?

when i turn the key to start it, the engine doesnt wanna start like its supposed to. Instead the engine turns and then at one point it will stop and struggle to turn over and does the same thing over and over.

Check for starter draw being excessive, battery condition, cables and grounds, does it ever actually start, has it run, very short on info here.

it has run 4 or five times, i have actually driven it but i got the starter rebuilt and it works alot better.
