Re: 99 Grand Cheeroke Radio Fuse
So the fuse is blown, and when you put another one it, that one also blows.
This would indicate to me there is a short somewhere. I would start with tracing the wiring from the back of the radio towards the wiring harness.

Re: 99 Grand Cheeroke Radio Fuse
This is a job for AlohaBra. He should be along any minute.
Other than visually going through the wires, I'm not the best one to talk to.

But I will move your post to the Grand Cherokee part of the forum and maybe the folks over there will have a diagram. In the mean time, since you say your fuse is burning out even after you replace it you must have a short circuit. (This term is often misused. It means a wire is touching the ground, usually cut by the sheet metal in the car.) Like Fred said, start by removing the radio and follow the harness and look for where it might hit the sheet metal and get cut. In some cases, I cut it off at both ends (leaving enough room to splice) and soder and heat shrink a new wire in. YOurs is not that hard since it is the power wire. |
