Why is there so much road noise on these LS's from the front? Is it the nature of the suspension?
And before you go saying its my tires, I noticed this on 3 other LS's I tried out before buying this one. And these are not the only tires I have had on this car and the same thing. My old Mark VII is so quite. Anyway I thought maybe its the spindle bearings, but crap, I cant figure out hot to get to them. I removed every bolt and still couldn't figure it out unless their non-replaceable.

Re: Road noise from front
The front wheel bearings are sealed bearings and get replaced as part of the hub.
Have you had your LS out on a stretch of new pavement to make sure it is not road noise? As for trying to compare the LS to the Mark VIII, the LS is more of a sport luxury car and may not have as much noise insulation as your Mark VIII (and yes, I realize the Mark VIII is intended to be a sporty car as well). -Rod |

And yes, no matter what the road surface it still makes the same noise. Asphalt or concrete. .

Re: Road noise from front
Mark VII, Mark VIII, what's the difference?
![]() Well, if you're sure that it's not tires, and sure it's not road surface, then it may be inherent in the car. Does the noise sound like a bearing noise, or you were just wanting to inspect them just in case? -Rod |
