Question 96 Neon Sport Fuel Sending Unit

Does anyone have any idea as to where I can pick up just the sending unit pretty reasonable? Autozone says have to buy the whole fuel pump assembly for $210. This is to get my fuel gauge to work, already changed the instrument cluster 3 times now and did the re-solder points on each of them. Or if you may have one around somewhere and would like to sell it, let me know. I do have paypal and can pay ya that way for it if at all possible. I need this badly to get the gauges to work cause I take frequent trips and is a royal pain in butt to stop bout every 225 miles to top off in fear of running out of gas. And TX and AZ exits are very far apart in between and not all exits have open stations late at night.

By the way it does have a metal tank not plastic.

Thanks for all your help everyone! Much appreciated!

Re: 96 Neon Sport Fuel Sending Unit

Have you tried moving the pins on the backside of the cluster? They may need to be moved to tighten up the connection. If not try replacing the pump canister and pump with a used one from a junkyard.
