Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

hahaha yeah, its much faster.I closed the boost bypass valve so i get full boost alot faster but thats my only mod so far, stock this m-90 sc boost at about 8psi with a smaller pulley which is like $60 it will boost at 11-12.Its alot more fun than my gs i could never imagine my gs with full mods even keepin up with this car.But i still like the handling on my eclipse its much better than this car.But fun shit man, later guys ~joe

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

A buddy of mine has a 98 Grand Prix with the Super Charger, and hes been talking about getting smaller pulley. This may sound dumb what pulley would he change?

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

the one on the end of the supercharger, stock i believe is 3.8.the most he probably wants to go with out supporting mods is 3.4,but its a cheap upgrade for some quik power.tell him to get a reprogramed pcm, ubend delete, headers, downpipe, and a cold air intake, and it will add shitloads of power on this car compared to stock,ok i dont wanna talk about my gtp to much i dont want people on here to get mad cuz you know they will. But its a fun car tons of power from a stop but after 40 its not that fast,i dont think. ~joe

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

Car looks nice... Also you might try looking on Ebay for Ford Lightning S/C pullys seeing you can probably get one for less than $60 and thats the same pully you guys are talking about... Not sure if you knew that or not. Good luck with the car.

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

So if you just change the pulley how much should that really effect performance? I know you were saying that it will boost somewhere in between 11-12psi but what will that do for hp and will you really feel the diff?

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

well im not an expert but on the gtp forum they say that a 3.4 will add 20-25,but yeah there is a difference.but in the exhaust there is a restriction called the ubend,if you get a smaller pulley make sure you have this ubend removed to reduce knock retard.most of these mods are pretty cheap for this car.colder plugs is a good supporting mod for the smaller pulley,as is a cai and headers and a downpipe. But yes to answer your question with a few supporting mods he will definetly feel the difference. And like i said the smaller the pulley the more power and boost the sc will produce.

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

Does he have to get a diff. belt or will the tensioner keep the belt tight enough?

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

well belt #658 - GTP with 3.1 - 3.4 pulley" but if he gets a 3.5 then he can stay stock some guys use the stock belt for a 3.4 but some get a little slipping.so i would go with a 3.5 pulley and stay stock.

Re: 0-60 in the new Gtp

You could also get one off an 03/04 Cobra if I'm not mistaken they are 3.4 pulleys or close to it. I know the first step mod in swapping pulleys on the cobra is a 2.8 so you would have luck getting a stock Cobra pulley. You could probably pick one up off of svtperformance for about 20-30 bucks. You could also probably get a Lightning one as well. But I'm pretty sure the stock lightning and cobra pulleys are the same.

Does the GTP have some nice blower whine?

If you put an aftermarket intake on the car the S/C will get alot louder.

Also if you go down that far it's not big deal to get a smaller belt. It shouldn't be hardly anymore expensive than a stock belt.
