Muwhahahaha More Power!!!!

Ok so here is the low down, I have in my garage a 1978 pontiac trans-am. It has the W72 engine package. That means for all of you who might not know that it has the pontiac 400 cubic inch motor (as opposed to the olds 403). My car also has a higher compersion ratio then the run of the mill 400. instead of the basic 7.7:1 it has a 8.1:1 compersion ratio.
Now down to bussness. My town has been invaded by fofo cars, you may know them as street tunners. I can stand the sound of those honda civics with there coffe can mufflers. So I want to dust the shit out of them but to truely dust them i need more power any help is greatly and much needed.

Re: Muwhahahaha More Power!!!!

They do it here, too...

The "sky is the limit" for power production from 400P. Your budget is about the only constraint. There are more "goodies" available for the Pontiac in the last three or four years, than the 25 years previous. The ol' Injun is back, to be sure. Tell us your goals and budget, and we'll see what we can do!

First order of business is to buy "How to Build Max-performance Pontiac V8s" by Jim Hand, published by SA Designs. The best $20 you'll ever spend on your Pontiac! The book was completed in Summer, '04. It is the most current study of the old engine.

Jim

Re: Muwhahahaha More Power!!!!

Well like i said before i have a tight budget. And i was changing the oil and noticed how god aful huge the catilitic converter was. So i did a quick check on the dyno 2003 program and realized that if i could move more air threw the engine i could really crank out some ponys. so i put a hi flow "bandit"style catalicic converter and a REAL air intack and man those tuners just get smaller faster and faster in my rear view mirror
I know its probably nothing like yours but like I said i am in short supply of money but in due time i will propable go stroker style thx for the help
