1996 Accord 4 cyl Overheats....
My daughter has a 1996 Accord, 4cyl auto trans. Before she left Piitsburgh last year she had the timing belt replaced. They also did the water pump and because she told them the car would run hot, they replaced the thermostat. Earlier she replaced the radiator. She's now in Southern CA, and any time she gets stuck in traffic, the temp gauge goes up. She runs the heater to try to help. Is their something else she can look at?

Re: 1996 Accord 4 cyl Overheats....
Radiator fan(s) may not be working...with the A/C on the fans should be forced to run by default...if she's heating up with the A/C on, there is something wrong with the fans almost for sure...if it runs cool with the A/C on, have her leave it on until she can get it looked at.
Fan relays and temp sensors are typical causes, fan motors usually will last a long time on Hondas, doubt if they are bad... |

I had the same problem. It was the fan motor that had to be replaced. Make sure you replace the fan motor and not the condenser fan motor. (
