wierd brake problem
okay here's the problem. the brakes actually work well when i first start to drive and during highway driving, but when i get stuck in a traffic jam or hit a bunch of red lightsm, i completely lose all pedal pressure. to the point where i can push the brake pedal all the down to the floor. so here's my question. does anyone know what the hell is going on with my brakes.

I don't know too much about brakes, but I had an '84 civic hatchback with a similar problem. It would never get brake pressure unless you pumped the breaks a couple times.
I would check your brake fluid to see where it's at and if it's low, then fill it up. Also, you could bleed your brakes to take the air out of the line.. That could be a problem. Eventually we just replaced the master cylindar and the problem was solved. Maybe check your connections in the line, make sure no brake fluid is spurting all over the place. Hope this helped.

yo pumping the brakes is exactly how i'm getting by rite now. i've already done everything that you've suggested. and now i'm starting to think it's the master cylinder. any way how much was this fix on your civic. i'd like to know just to get a ballpark figure

A master cylindar shouldn't cost more than $100 bucks I would say, but I could be wrong because I don't think the civic had power brakes. You can do it yourself and save money of course, but I'm sure if you had a shop do it, it would cost a bit more... naturally. If you really had the cash, you should just replace everything with better parts. I was thinking an NSX brake conversion on my car would be nice, but I have no idea if it'd work.

thanx for the info. the nsx brake conversion will work and will almost bolt on directly. but if you want to save some money go with the legend caliper swap which are almost identical. matter of fact the pistons are actually bigger than that of the nsx. i am going to be doing this one day when i have the time and money and i will let ya know how it works.

sounds good... keep me informed on the prices of the swaps and where to get the parts and shit... junkyard? if you know right now that'd be cool. my lude can't stop to save it's life (literally). heavy car.. do you know if the legend conversion will fit behind the stock SI rims? also, i'm looking for some volk rims, know any places with competative prices? maybe other than ebay? thanks.. i don't mean to steal the thread.
