Baffled! What the heck is going on?

Alright, so a few days ago, my 93 Del Sol SI died. Determined problem to be no spark. Changed: Plugs, Roter, Cap, Cables/wires Issues: some screws had seized, stripping out the top when i tried to remove them. replaced them via a local Ace Hardware with matching thread/length screws, though the content make up may have been different, and none of the built in washers/spacers made it to the new screws. Had to cut off the head of the roter screw with a dremel. Result: Still no spark. Changed: ignition coil Issues: Same as above Result: Car started right up, ran better than ever for 1 day. Started having issues staying running after that. next day, drove car around and the Tach started going bonkers, off the chart. Had MAJOR problems staying running, stalled out a couple of times. Got to work, left it alone, and she won't start when it was time to go home. Changed: Fuel Filter, added HEET additive to gas Issues: none Result: no joy on car start. car would start to run, but die out. moving the cap around seemed to make it "work" again for short periods of time. Changed: New cap and wires for old cap and wires: Issues: none result: started right up, ran REALLY GOOD for 7 miles, then started having the issues agian. one of the plug wire recepticals on the new cap lokked terrible. Anyway, that's where i am at now. List of possiblities: Bad/clogged fuel injector? bad plug? bad dissy? bad cpu/ecm? anyone got an idea? i'd love the help thanx

Sounds like it could be your igniter.

You can never go wrong with a new distributer but if you're looking to save cash and you can take your's apart then just buy the igniter.

Well, i replaced the ignition coil already....i'm about 2 steps away from getting the whole damned thing rebuilt, so if i should just get another dizzy, i'll just do that....better than going thru this BS. thanx for any advice on this.

Yes, you should buy a brand new distributor. Check Ebay.
AudioGuy93DelSol is correct. Lifetime guaranteed rebuilt is not just as good.

If you go ebay make sure it's new or factory refurbished. Getting a used one might put you 2 steps behind where you are now.
