Re: Engine Swap
98 introduced a total body and engine makeover for the LH, the interior and exterior got a complete redo as well as engine changes, the often maligned 2.7 24V V6 makes it's debut along with an aluminum block version of the 3.5 24V V6 but only displacing 3.2 liters (an 11 HP jump from the 93-97 3.5), the engine has a totally different intake system and ignition system but primarily the same block design as the cast iron versions. For compatibility sake you will want to find a 98-01 3.2 or 99-04 3.5 engine to drop in that car.
See if you can score a break with a wrecking yard if you find a 98 and up engine and try to offer your 96 engine for it and less cash, there are still 93-97 LH cars on the road they might want it especially is it has relatively low miles that can be verified and they can hear it run.
