Rear end bump after stopping

about a half second after stopping, whether fast and hard or super slow and easy, I hear/feel a slight bump from the rear axle. Almost as if the pressure is off the rear end and something is "relaxing". Drivetrain, brakes... who knows. Any ideas?

I got a 96 pathfinder, have the same problem. I talked to a nissan tech and he said it was a normal sound from the tranny. Take it out of overdrive and see if it stops, if it stops it's normal.

Could be worn rear axle control arm bushings as well. Do you get a nasty wobble when changing lanes on the freeway?
