tuning potential of the 928

I think I have long overlooked the potentiol of porsche, the hotrod japanese imports always steal the spotlight. I want to build a 10 second street monster that nobody in this country would ever suspect, and I was wanting to know if the 928 has the potential to do this is the engine block/tranny/and diff up to the job, or is there another another porsche that would do the job better? I am hoping to spend less than 10k initaly so I'll have some money left to tweek it. Give me your imput on this. I know that there is a good aftermarket for porsche in genral I lived in Germany, but is it readly accessable in the states?
