Question 1988 Chevy Spectrum

Hello
I am considering in buying a 1988 4 dr Chevy Spectrum and I was wondering if that is a good reliable car to have. I figure it has good gas mileage since its a 4 cyl. but was wondering if its a good car all around. Thanks for the imput.

a friend of mine had a 1987 2 door spectrum and it was a great little car. gets good gas milage, and it treats you good if you treat it good. i suggest changing the timing belt if it hasnt been changed for a while, though.

Well went to go look at it. The engine is running a little fast that whats its suppose to so I am going to have to take it to a mechanic and run diagnostic and see why its running fast. Other than that it looked pretty good. It only has little over 116,000 miles on it and the guy said it gets good gas mileage. I am getting it next week.
