Ground issue

So my intake grounded itself on my positive terminal today and stared the battery ground on fire. I went and bought a new ground wire but then relized that the ground ran to 2 spots it ran to the wall near the radiator then ran back to the starter bracket. Can I just run the new wire to the bracket or does it need to run into the front wall and then to the bracket.91 civic dx 1.5 Thanks for any help.
