car sputters

so heres my story in short. I was driving my car home and about the time i got home i noticed i had little to NO gas, so i'm life fuck it i'll put gas in it tomorrow. As i was driving to the gas station which is a few blocks away i noticed my car was kinda stuttering as i was driving it there, finally got there and put the med. grade of gas in my car (90 oct, 10%eth added) thinking it just needed gas. So as i was off to work it was starting to sputter bad and my check engin light came on, said the hell with work parked it took the batter cable off (reset check engin light). that got rid of the light but it still sputtered, drove it out in the country for a while. Put another $10 in premium in my car....None of this worked, anyone have a clue would could be happening.

I'm gonna check spark plugs tomorrow

Re: car sputters

so in case anyone cares or someone throws in a comment, i ended up putting a set of acdelco (they were out of ngk's) in my car and now it seems to idle fine and whatnot, but everytime i really get on it around 10psi and more it stutters.....i don't think its a turbo problem so i'm going to try plug wires next.

any thoughts?

Re: car sputters

I bet you sucked up some trash on the bottom of the tank, and now your fuel filter is stopped up. You have the classic symptoms..

Re: car sputters

yea because as you get on it your engine needs more fuel to mix with the increased amount of air. Somewhere along your fuel system your getting cut out.
