converted to lumina!!!

I converted someone!! A friend of mine just traded in his '96 tracker for a '96 lumina LS. I guess there were a few issues with the tracker, so he got the LS with 196XXX. He's gettin ready to have a baby (well his girlfriend is) and needed a car with more room. It has had some tranny work done to it. Is there anything I can tell him to look out for on the new luminator. I gave it a 5 minute look-over. It's got factory cd player, sunroof, dual climate control. It's green, fairly nice. The antifreeze is green although it's supposed to use dex-cool. I told him that there was some sludge buildup on the inside of the reservoir, he might want to get it flushed out really good. I really hope he got a good one! any thoughts???

Re: converted to lumina!!!

IF the antifreeze is now green, there's a good chance that they already changed the problematic intake gaskets and flushed the system at the same time, converting it to green in the process.

Re: converted to lumina!!!

Probably. His dad is a mechanic (I don't personally know him though). I just told him he may want to flush it good. There is a lot of "mud" around the inside of the tank. The car starts and runs fine. The A/C compressor needs replaced (it sounds horrible when it starts but calms down). I'll mention the intake gaskets to him next time I see him. Thanks for the info!
