R31 Skyline GTS-R

I finished this beauty about 2 weeks ago - I love this car

It's a Fujimi Nissan Skyline R31 GTS-R from the Tohge series.

Re: R31 Skyline GTS-R

Nice!
I have 2 of these on the go (one with 19" dished chrome 5 spokes, stock GTS-R body, and some mild interior upgrades, and the other is a rebuild in black/silver two tone and will be have more extensive mods) I also drive an R31 four door sedan 1:1 .
Just a couple of little things, I'd lower the back a little more (I did it by removing the little flat strips that the axle pushes up to, and adding a piece of flat styrene on the back of the vertical part of the frame one each side so that the axle can come up to about 1.5mm from the top of the slot - you could set it to your own height).
I'd also paint the centre of the exhaust tips black (or gently remove the metal sleeves and shorten the plastic extensions as far as practical), otherwise its very nice!
cheers,
floody

Re: R31 Skyline GTS-R

That is the 2 problems I have with it - that metal parts surrounding the muffler is a pain in the ass and I'll see what I can do about the back - it is way too high up in the air!

Thanks for the help.

Floody, you're in R31skylineclub.com forums aswell hey?

Re: R31 Skyline GTS-R

yeah man, sure am! Username there being floody.
Theres a thread there with pics of my green GTS-R model (which I'm rebuilding now), it would be back a few pages in general.
I actually cut the two tips off mine, and added some round scrap plastic which I pushed a metal tip made from an old pen onto, about 6mm dia. for that cannon muffler look.

Yeah, its being redone and coming back with a pearl black over silver respray in the next month or so, and either "345" RS-watanabe rims or 19" Racing Hart CR rims (will swap my new aoshima racing hart CR 19" for fujimi 345 wide watanabe set , BTW, peoples), depending which I get first.
The other GTS-R with the 19" chromes will be suzuki deep blue pearl, as its a good match for the original GTS-R blue (all 800 were blue apparently), and otherwise fairly stock, bar being really low...

Re: R31 Skyline GTS-R

My info says all are dark blue. Doesn't really matter, its only a model But yeah, dark blue is Nissan's corporate colour, and it stands to reason thats what it would have been, being an international Gr. A Homologation model.

Update - I changed the tailpipes - looking MUCH better now. Also changed the rear ride height. Car standing much more level now - was very easy to change that.

Will post pics when I get hold of a digital camera.

Here it is - dropped the rear suspension about 1.5mm and shortened the plastic on the rear tailpieces.
