Jumping ramp to ramp

Earlier this week, me and my dad had a ramp to ramp jump contest between his Clodbuster and my Stampede. I won of course. His furthest jump was about 3-3.5 feet. My longest jump with my rage motor was about 7.5 feet. My longest jump with my new Trinity D4 11 turn triple was just shy of 13 feet. Amazing what a good modified motor can do. Has anyone else done something like this?

I used to jump my kyosho outrage (electric( in the street off a big ramp. Keep in mind, there was no landing ramp. At the end of the day, screws were missing, and shock oil was all over the car.

COME ON GUYS WE NEED TO KEEP THIS FORUM ALIVE!!!!!!!
yeah, once i was jumping some ramps and got shock fluid all over the place too. I was just wondering, when do you know to add some shock fluid to your shocks. Does the car not handle as well or something?

Well I only race onroad, but shockoil works the same way between them. You need shockoil whenever you lose some. Your shocks should always be full of oil, and have no air in them.

Because air can be compressed, oil can't. So if there is air the shocks can have some strange compression charteristics.

Yeah thats good point, I guess I hadn't thought of that . Well, I remember when I made the kit last fall I made the shock fluid ooze out slightly to there was plenty in there, so it makes sense now. Thanks
