96 Front brake caliper removal

Anyone ever tried to replace front brake pads and could not budge the caliper retaining bolts at all? I'm trying to replace pads and I'm stuck, can't get the bolts to move. Is air impact gun the only solution and how do you fit the gun in behind the rotor and not hit the struts etc.? Must the car be up on a lift to fit tools in and do front brake pad replacement?
Thank You for Help!

Turn the wheel all the way in the direction that will get the most clearence. Then put a long pipe on the end of the socket wrench. This will increase your leverage.

Are you using milimetric hex wrenches? Lots of WD40 helps a lot. Are your bolts slipped?

It's been a couple years, but I believe my 91 has 12 point torx screws. Your's probably has the same. You can get a set of 12 point torx wrenches at most autoparts stores. Be careful not to strip the insides or you'll have to drill them out.
