Re: wierd popping noise

My daughter's 2001 Cav also has popping in the steering. The steering works fine. The mechanic said the pinion gear in the steering is worn causing the popping. He said it is not a safety issue but will get worse over time. It is not a problem other than I am concerned about safety.
