Unhappy Driver side window doesn't like to go up!

We have been having a problem with our driver side window all winter. It goes down wonderfully, but doesn't go up. You can pull up on the button and it won't budge! You can't here the motor or anything. It just seems to like to take it's time. When it is cold, it won't go up at all! We have used a space heater to warm it up to get it to work. Now that it is warmer out, I have attempted to use it, but still have problems. After holding the button up for a minute or two (no exaggeration! If I use the window at McDonald's it takes until I am at work - about 3 miles) before it starts going up!)

Any ideas? Could it be a connection in the door or the motor???

Any would be appreciated before I sink a lot of money into something that might not be the problem!!!

Re: Driver side window doesn't like to go up!

I had the same problem in my 2001 Villager. It turned out to be the cable that lifts the window was frayed, and was jamming up the spool that it was supposed to be winding onto. I replaced the regulator and it's fine. Regulator consists of the large metal bracket that clamps to the bottom of the indow, and the lift cables. Was a 1 hour job in my driveway.
