2003 Cavalier Engine Light

Hi everyone - I'm new here.....I have a 2003 Cavalier, I am a commuter and I have just over 70,000km, I just had my car serviced at the dealer (no more warranty) and had the transmission service and oil change. Just before that, I had it taken in for the recall on the turning lamps.....now my engine light was on this morning. I read the book and followed the first suggestion in making sure that the fuel cap is on correctly (I did just fill up) - does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be without me taking it in and getting r @ped at the dealer??......

Thanks!

Check all your bulbs. I had the same thing happen to me. Headlight was out before I took it in (so only one Driving Light would come on) , when it came out the little light that said my driving lights were on would flicker on and off then my check engine light would come on, so I would start there.

My car had the same problem and I was told it was the oxygen sensor and then the car died on me last night. Get it checked

Take it to the auto zone parts store. They will scan it for free and tell you what the fault is.
