1999 Firebird

I am for all intents and purposes a single woman in need of direction. Drove my car home for lunch yesterday, got in it to go back and nothing but a little clicking, the chime making some noise and the gauges were bouncing around. Does anyone have any idea if I should begin with the battery????? I just had new tires and a front end alignment last weekend....any connection?

Thank you to anyone with suggestions!

Re: 1999 Firebird

Sounds like a battery.

Check connections. See if it will jump start.

Re: 1999 Firebird

Thank you, Mr. Luos. I just returned from having the battery tested and it tested fine. I did forget to mention that I was unable to jump start. I just simply would not work. Since my return, I have cleaned the connections and want to make sure they are completely dry before trying to reconnect. Remember, I am a true novice, but learning quickly!

Re: 1999 Firebird

if it sitll doesnt work, you might have to get a new starter.. its good news that you hear clicking tho, cuz that means the starter IS getting some sort of power..

Re: 1999 Firebird

Glad to hear you have it working!!

Did you use that battery terminal cleaner stuff?? Basicly baking soda in a liquid form. Works great.
