305 1/4 mile?

I was thinking about buying a niice Trans Am its a 1988 with the 305 Auto.

I was wondering what would be the best way to get into the 13-14 1/4 mile

Like diffrent parts list people have done to get there, or what you think would be the best set up and how much is would cost me in the end?

Any posts would be appreciated

Thanks, Morgan

Start by getting some better gears like 4.10s and get a torque convertor and a shift kit.. that'd help out really nice.. also get intake and exhaust.

Thatd be around 2000 max.

uh 4.10's I think that would be too steep unless its not a daily driver.....id go with 3.73's or 42's.......but other than that Ralley's right..

Re: 305 1/4 mile?

car craft had a 91 formula project car (350tpi) and they installed an slp intake, aftermarket runners and base, full exhaust (headers, cats, catback), torque converter, and 3.73 gears. they ran a low 14. with a 100 shot of juice it went a 12.9.
with a 305 u would have to do a lot to get it into the 13's. u would probably have to get 410 gears, a good converter, plus a ton of bolt ons and u may need to spray it.
