Questions about Painting My Miata
I have removed the plastic nose cone and rear license plate area on my 1996 Miata in order to paint them.
I have sanded progressively to 400 grit. I do not plan to prime these parts. My questions are: Should I sand to a finer grit for adhesion? How long do I wait between coats to sand? and when I do, what grit do I use and should it be wet or dry? Is sanding necessary between final coat and clear coat? Thanks |

Re: Questions about Painting My Miata
If you don't use primer before you paint the parts then the paint won't look that good. If you expect a good high gloss shine to it then always prime before painting. Wet sanding after final coat is a good idea it helps remove any contaminants in the paint and orange peel to give it the best look.
