"Theft System" light on

So my "Theft System" light came on in the dash of my 99, but I don't have a factory theft system. Any other time when random lights come on in my dash it means certain car failure. Random lights have illuminated completely unrelated to the actual problem. For example: I've had the temp. light and the emergency brake light come on and my fuel pump died. I was just curious if anybody has had the "theft system" light come on, but go off after shutting the car off and restarting it. It since hasn't come on, nor have I had any problems otherwise. I am concerned, however, as to what it could have been.

Any takers???

Thanks.

Maybe you shouldn't be stealing cars, eh?

But seriously, if it hasn't come back on, you're fine. The theft systems in these cars is ultra-picky and sometimes rather stupid.
